Understanding French bulldog pricing
To understand the pricing of a french bulldog puppy you must first understand the cost of raising a litter, the time and expenses are nearly endless. Let’s start at the beginning...
- purchasing a good quality female to breed
- raising that female until she is of age to be bred; vet care, high quality food, bedding, leashes, collars, bowls etc.
- breeding your female; progesterone testing, genetic teating, travel, stud fee, sonogram, reverse progesterone, csection, antibiotics, etc.
- raising a litter; 24/7 around the clock work, scales, high end formula, clean bedding, heating pads, whelping kits, incubators, vet care, puppy pads, high end puppy food etc.
As you can see, there is a WHOLE LOT of expenses that goes in to providing you with a beautiful, healthy puppy.
It is very hard when you see a french bulldog puppy priced “cheap” to not jump at the opportunity to save some money and own one of these magnificent pups and not break your budget in the process. I get it, but BUYER BEWARE, I’ve researched and bred frenchies long enough that I’ve seen time and time again families take home a backyard bred and born puppy and end up in complete heartbreak, or worse, send $1500 for the deal of a lifetime and never see a puppy in return. French Bulldogs that are sold ”cheap” will definitely cost you much more than a healthy, appropriat priced puppy in the long run. Reputable breeders will NOT cut corners and their pricing reflects that. If you have a low budget in mind and are sold on the french bulldog, I recommend getting on a waiting list for retired breeding dogs, they make amazing lap dog companions.
